An average of 4.5 for the Voila mattress seems ok at first sight, but when you compare other mattresses with the same rating, Voila surely does a better job than most of them and yet is rated the same. Its hard to understand why. For instance, not a lot of companies provide 3 comfort levels for their mattresses. The edge support for Voila mattress is excellent compared to the other mattresses and they have 12 Layers with pocketed innerspring. All these things count for a great rating and yet, Voila ranks a bit too low. Matracos.com thinks that this is actually one of the mattress companies punished for just putting in a 30 day break in period for their mattresses. But then again, the company does not offer pillows, protectors, mattress pads and toppers or any other accessories. But as for the mattress, the Voila compares far better than the Casper and many other mattresses in the market.
- Price : The mattress starts at a price of $699 for a twin and Goes up to $1499 for a king. This is a hybrid mattress. Unlike most memory foam mattresses the voila mattress is heavy, durable and has an entirely different feel. It bounces better (making sex heavenly) sleeps cool (thanks to the porous side covers) and uses talalay latex for more bounce and comfort. The prices do not vary from comfort levels.
- Durability : Most Coil mattresses last 6-7 years. That’s how long the spring will be good. The problem is the spring itself . They use high gauge springs in mattresses which are which is easy to bounce. They are thin and sooner or later they give in. Using a low gauge spring will make the mattress hard. So the options are less. Using a high gauge spring with better quality and tension will increase the life of a mattress and reduce sinkage. The Voila mattress assures you 10 years of life guaranteed. The warranty will cover you for those 10 good years. After 10 years, chances are that your mattress will not do much good. In any case, research shows that a mattress should be changed every 10 years. Its is not an industry norm, but that’s how long you should use a mattress. The Voila hybrid mattress is durable and will last to give you 10 good years of sleep.
- Shipping & Delivery : Delivery is free with Voila mattress. Unless you need an expedited shipping, you don’t have to pay an extra dime. Your mattress will be shipped in 2 days from date of order . It will take 4-8 days depending on your location to be delivered to you. You will not be required to sign in most cases. Your mattress will reach your doorstep. On the date of shipment, you will be emailed with the tracking code, so you can keep a tab on where your mattress has reached. You can schedule a time for delivery if the shipping company provides that kind of service in your area.
- Finance : Voila mattress is affiliated with Affirm for financing your mattress. Affirm provides 10% – 30 % apr with 3, 6 and 12 month payments. Affirm provides instant approval and you can know If you qualify for the same when you purchase the mattress. Financing for your Voila mattress will require you to create an account and provide financial details to the Affirm website directly. Most of the time, you will be approved by affirm for a 100% financing. Try to put in as much as cash as you have on your purchase taking only what you really need. - Problems, Complaints and Negative Reviews : Now comes the real part. Out of 27 customers who purchased the mattress, 22 of them had a wonderful experience. That’s ok but 5 of them had a bad experience. The first concern was the degassing process. The mattress seems to take up to 3 days for off gassing and the smell remains for a very long time. The second problem was with the delivery. I wouldn’t blame this on the company entirely but there seems to be a complaints on the delivery partner , FedEx in this case where they left the mattress in the curb or couldn’t find the address even when it was clearly stated. Calls to Voila mattress also wasn’t helpful for the customer. One of the customer found the mattress too hard to sleep on but felt soft when they put their hands on it. She complains about the mattress being too hard and too soft at the same time. One customer had positive reviews about the company’s services and returns when her mattress gave in but had negative reviews for the product itself. She had to return the product twice and get a refund (which was easy) because both her mattresses were faulty in less than 6 months. There are also complaints about the Return process. Though the mattress company claims that they will provide returns to be collected, the customer was asked to donate the mattress themselves to accredited donation centers and provide a receipt for the refund. - Exchange & Return Policy : The company provides excellent exchanges and they keep their replacement policy sincere. The return policy on the other hand could be a hassle. Though the company claims to provide free returns which includes pickup of the mattress, customer complain that the company has asked that the customer has to donate the mattress to a donation center and provide a receipt for the same for a full refund all at the customers cost. Its ok if the customer has to do it, but it would have been better if the procedure was clearly mentioned on the website. Claiming that the company would pick up the mattress themselves and later asking the customer to donate the mattress and provide a receipt is not really what most people like to hear.

Voila mattress seems to have a particular smell for up to 3 days. Though the company claims that the mattress will off gas within 3-4 hours, many customers have complained that the offgassing remains for up to 3 days. The smell is non toxic but the smell of new mattress is not something which everyone should like. If you are one who does not want to smell that new mattress smell, be prepared to leave your mattress opened for at least 3-4 days before using it.

If the mattress wears out, acts funny, seams fall off or there is a bump or sinkage in the mattress, your warranty will cover it. Voila mattress company takes their warranty seriously and that is clearly mentioned in most of the reviews. The company is good at taking back the mattress and replacing it and at times when the replacement does not work, they have refunded the amount too. If the problem happens during the trial period, you can be sure to get a replacement , no costs involved.
